The Van That Helped Start Our Journey

Box Hero Recycling would not be making this journey in quite the same way without the kindness of Kenneth Cofield Jr..

Kenneth was our friend. He worked on our home, supported us, and believed in what we were trying to build.

Then he did something we will never forget.

Kenneth gave us our first cargo van.

It wasn't simply a vehicle. It gave us a way to move, serve customers, pick up cardboard, recycle more, and begin turning an idea into something real.

Tragically, Kenneth lost his life to gun violence. His loss left a space that cannot be replaced—but the kindness he showed us continues to move.

The cargo van he gave us is the van helping Box Hero serve our community today.

Every time that van pulls up to a home or business…

Every box we remove…

Every customer we help…

Every load of cardboard we keep moving toward recycling…

a piece of Kenneth's generosity is still moving with us.

💗 Why We Share His Story

We don't share Kenneth's story only because of what we lost.

We share it because of what friendship, generosity and believing in someone else's dream can create.

Kenneth planted something when he helped Box Hero.

Today, we're continuing to build from that gift.

We hope his story reminds someone to support a friend's dream, help someone who is starting over, give when you are able, and never underestimate how far one act of kindness can travel.

Kenneth's Gift Is Still Moving 💗

The Van Kenneth Gave Us

The cargo van Kenneth Cofield Jr. gave Box Hero Recycling

"This is more than a Box Hero vehicle. It's part of Kenneth's legacy."

This is the cargo van Kenneth Cofield Jr. gave us—the same van Box Hero Recycling is still using today.

Kenneth believed in us before Box Hero became what it is becoming. His gift gave us the ability to get on the road, reach our customers, pick up cardboard, and begin building this company.

The van is still here. His kindness is still working. His contribution is still part of every mile of this journey.

When you see Box Hero out serving the community, know that a friend helped make that possible.

In loving memory of Kenneth Cofield Jr. 💗

Your gift carried more than boxes. It helped carry a dream.

🕊️ From Loss, We Choose Purpose

Box Hero stands against gun violence and honors the lives, families and communities affected by it.

We cannot change what happened, but we can choose what we build afterward.

  • We choose service.
  • We choose community.
  • We choose gratitude.
  • We choose to remember the people who helped us get here.

Kenneth Cofield Jr. will always be part of the Box Hero story.

Rest in love, Kenneth. 💗

Your kindness is still carrying us forward.
